THE BACK STORY
When I graduated college in 2012 I literally had no plan. I took odd jobs at museums, manufacturing plants, etc.- all while wishing I could be writer. Then, in 2014, my life was [fortunately] turned upside down. I moved back to long island, highlighted my dark hair blonde, and started to write. I submitted my writings, I filled journals, and I started this blog. It seemed like a fun, not so serious way, to share my life while testing different writing voices, topics, etc.
WHY WAIT… I CAN’T?
Well, after testing about 5 different blog names, none of them felt authentically “Leanne” until “Wait, I Can’t”. It’s something I say at least 7-20 times a day. Because, sometimes, you just can’t even with life.
LIFE OUTSIDE THE BLOG
Welp, that’s a fun one too.
I escaped the mundane cubicle life of misfits jobs and am finally doing what I love to do. In the real world, I am a Catering Manager on Long Island. It takes up majority of my time, which is why this blog is mostly sporadic. I’ve also written two children books, and am working on a third, well, not so children’s books. It’s a great feeling when you stop making excuses, and just do the thing you wanted to do.
I recently married my best friend, and while it’s still fun adjusting to a new name, title,
etc., the best part is that our relationship feels just the same. We live in a wonderful, cozy (AKA- tiny) apartment on the water on the south shore. And, like most young newlyweds, we continue to push off having children (seriously, don’t even ask)
because we have an amazing yellow lab named Emmett (moosh, moo, king drool, em, ham etc.,)
THINGS YOU CAN USUALLY FIND ME DOING
- having two sided conversations with Emmett
- reading on our private beach. (a perk I will eventually miss desperately)
- laughing too loudly at comedy specials on netflix.
- snap chatting my life. (seriously, get at me: leannejustcant)
- browsing design ideas on pinterest for the house we don’t have yet.
- pretending I’m starring on “Chef” while I reduce some sort of sauce I just made up.

Oh, and thanks for reading this. How did I do? About Me sections have never exactly been my thing. I sort of feel cliche even writing one. Ugh, seriously. The struggle is so real. #amiright?
